USE OF LOCAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR (EGF) FOR PREVENTING AMPUTATION OF FOOT BY DIABETES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of a local preparation containing an epidermal growth factor which is standard or sealed or bonded into degenerative liposome, which is intended to be applied to chronic ischemic cutaneous lesions or its periphery.

SOLUTION: A local pharmaceutical preparation includes an effective amount of epidermal growth factor sealed or bonded into degenerative or conventional liposome containing phosphatidylcholine, for treating diabetic podalic ulcer in the grade IV and V of a diabetes patient. The preparation is useful from the viewpoints in which high bioavailability of the epidermal growth factor becomes possible in a deeper tissue than a lesion in contrast to a conventional technology, and amputation of the foot by diabetes can be prevented.
