<p>The laser apparatus (12), for ophthalmic surgery e.g. laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), has a pulsed laser unit (14) with an applicator (18) to direct the laser beam at the cornea of the eye (10), fixed in position by the vacuum in a suction chamber (20). The applicator incorporates an applanation lens (22) with a contact surface (24) and drives (25,26) to move the lens over the eye surface.</p> |
