<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply apparatus that optimizes, when operating a heat recovery operation, the stop operation of the heat recovery operation, thereby improving system efficiency and thus enhancing energy saving performance. <P>SOLUTION: The hot water supply apparatus includes: a hot water storage tank 1; a first heating means 2 for heating the water in the hot water storage tank 1; a heat source 3 provided outside the hot water storage tank 1, and whose temperature is lower than the heating temperature by the first heating means 2; a second heating means 4 for heating the water in the hot water storage tank 1 with the heat from the heat source 3; a plurality of stored hot water temperature detecting means 8 for detecting the temperature of the water in the hot water storage tank 1, and a control means 9.
