<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a force detection apparatus capable of attenuating external force inputted from an object existing in a separated distance to a force sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The force detection apparatus includes the force sensor for detecting external force and an attenuation mechanism for attenuating the external force and inputting the attenuated external force to the force sensor. The attenuation mechanism includes a transmission member attached to an input part of the force sensor, a support member of which one end is attached to a fixed part of the force sensor and a collapsible shaft pivotally supported on the other end of the support member.
