PURPOSE: A vehicle detection apparatus which uses multiple earth magnetism sensors and a method thereof are provided to detect the existence of vehicles within an area in which the earth magnetism sensors are installed by mutually analyzing the meaning of earth magnetism change in multiple axes. CONSTITUTION: Earth magnetism sensors detect earth magnetism in each axis. An earth magnetism signal acquisition part(130) acquires an earth magnetism detection value of each axis from the earth magnetism sensors. An earth magnetism signal change detection part(150) detects earth magnetism change information in each axis by converting the earth magnetism detection value of each axis. A storage part(170) stores a parameter for detecting vehicles and converting the earth magnetism detection value. A vehicle detection part(190) detects the existence of vehicles. |
