<p>A socket controlling device and a power management system are disclosed. The power management system includes a socket controlling device and a communication device. In relation to the socket controlling device, a first terminal is connected to an electronic device, a second terminal connected to the first terminal is inserted into a socket, and power usage information on the connected electronic device is generated and outputted. The socket controlling device cuts off a connection between the first terminal and the second terminal when an effective power value of the connected electronic device is less than a standard standby power value, and controls a connection between the first terminal and the second terminal in response to a signal received in the communication device. The communication device directly receives the outputted power usage information and displays the received information, and generates a signal for controlling a connection between the first terminal and the second terminal in order to directly transmit the generated signal to the socket controlling device.</p> |
