摘要 [Problem] To minimize detection signal strength variability and allow stable measurement in a detection method and device for detecting light produced due to the excitation of fluorescent labels. [Solution] An ultrasound-projection means (40) projects ultrasound (S) into a test solution (SF), thereby pushing a fluorescent-labeled substance (F) in said test solution (SF) against a metal layer (16). In that state, an illumination means (30) shines excitation light (L) at the interface between a dielectric plate (17) and the metal layer (16) so as to strike said interface at a specific angle of incidence greater than or equal to the critical angle for total internal reflection, thereby forming a surface-plasmon optical-electric-field intensification region on the metal layer (16) and exciting the fluorescent-labeled substance (F). A fluorescence-detection means (50) detects fluorescence produced by the fluorescent-labeled substance (F) due to said excitation.
