<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for controlling delivery of energy to divide tissue. <P>SOLUTION: The system 10 for controlling delivery of energy to divide tissue includes: an electrosurgical instrument 12 having an electrically energizable electrode 34 which communicates energy to the tissue; and a generator 16 to supply the energy to the electrosurgical instrument which supplies the energy to the tissue in a first pulse to react the tissue, in slow pulses to create a desiccation line until impedance at the tissue has reached a predetermined threshold, and in rapid pulses to divide the tissue across the desiccation line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
