<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that maintains visibility of images even when processing time required for displaying an image is shortened by reducing the amount of data. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device includes: a composition unit 203 that expands compressed image data, merges the expanded image data with area separation data to create composite data, and allocates color or gradation to the area separation data for every area attribute; and a control unit 5 that causes a display unit 4 to output the composite data.
