<p>PURPOSE: A circuit protection device and a test circuit are provided to display and change the charge status of a capacitor by comparing measured charge characteristics with critical values. CONSTITUTION: A switch gear unit(106) comprises a plurality of circuit protection devices(122). Each circuit protection device is detachably coupled in the switch gear unit and controls power provided to one or more loads(124) from a main power feeder(126). Each circuit protection device comprises a controller, such as a circuit breaker or arc preventing device, and a trip mechanism(128).
