The method involves stopping supply of oxidizing fluid e.g. pure deoxygenate, to a catholic conduit of a cell of a fuel cell (S04) that is connected to an electric load. The inert fluid is injected (S06) into the cathodic conduit, and the reducer fluid e.g. pure dihydrogen gas, is injected into an anodic conduit of the cell, where the oxidizing fluid comprises an oxidizing element e.g. dioxygen molecule, reacted with a reducer element e.g. dihydrogen molecule, of the reducer fluid. The load is electrically disconnected (S02) before the injection of the inert fluid and the reducer fluid. An independent claim is also included for a fuel cell system comprising a fuel cell. |
