<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a power supply device by detecting a short-circuit failure of an input part of the power supply device simply and accurately. <P>SOLUTION: A detection circuit 40 uses the characteristic of a solar cell module 50 to detect an input voltage and an input current input into an input part of a power converter 20. When the detected input voltage Vin is lower than the threshold voltage ALM_V and the input current Iin is higher than the threshold current ALM_I, the input part is judged to be closed, so the short-circuit failure can be detected simply and accurately. Moreover, based on the judged result that there is a short-circuit failure, the drive of the power converter 20 is stopped while the solar cell module 50 is separated from the input part and an abnormal signal S23b is notified to outside, so secondary disasters at the time of the short-circuit failure of the input part of a power supply device 10 can be prevented. Further, the short-circuit failure is notified to outside by the abnormal signal S23b, so repair work can be done swiftly and the operation stop period of the power supply device 10 can be shortened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
