The bridge element (1) has a preparing aid for centering a locking element (4) on a receiver (3), where the preparing aid is arranged before the receiver. The preparing aid has a guide surface for centering the locking element on the receiver. The curvature of the guide surface is adjusted at the curvature of the inner surface of the receiver. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a bridge-laying device with a laying unit; and (2) a method for laying a bridge element.
