IMAGE SCANNER, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING IMAGE QUALITY OF IMAGE SCANNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner capable of compensating for light quantity loss while preventing a whitening phenomenon of a light guide due to heat generated from an LED.

SOLUTION: The image scanner includes: a document board on which documents to be scanned are placed; a scanning unit including at least one light guide installed on a lower side of the document board to be linearly reciprocated and irradiating light to the documents and a scanning part provided with a plurality of light emitting elements separated from both ends of the light guide and emitting light; and an image sensor receiving the light emitted from the scanning unit. An emission light quantity loss of the light emitting elements is compensated for by increasing an intensity of a current supplied to the light emitting elements as a separation distance between the light emitting elements and the light guide increases.
