PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument having proper operability of knobs due to small control force of knobs, while being capable of inhibiting backlash of knobs in an instrument including control knobs. SOLUTION: The instrument 1 is formed in the shape including: a displaying section 15 for displaying a predetermined information; a cover 13 covering a front surface of the displaying section 15; a through-hole 17 prepared on the cover 13; and a tapered section 19 at an intermediate part of a longitudinal direction, extends out from the displaying section 15 so as to pass through the through-hole 17, is supported by a through-hole 17, by engaging the tapered section 19 with the through-hole 17 in a normal state, and has a knob 5 for altering the display content of the displaying section 15, because, when the instrument moves a predetermined distance in the longitudinal direction from the ordinary state, a predetermined gap is formed between the through-hole 17 and the through-hole 17.
