PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire showing a superior steering stability on both a dry road surface and a snowy and icy road surface. SOLUTION: When a grounding surface 11 of a tread surface is equally divided into three zones: a central zone 1, an inside zone 2, and an outside zone 3, the outside zone 3 is provided with a block-shaped land 35 and a rib-shaped land 34. The block-shaped land 35 is partitioned into a plurality of blocks 35a by lateral grooves 43, and formed with short thin grooves 52 extending along the tire circumferential direction. The rib-shaped land 34 is arranged on the inner side of the block-shaped land 35 in the tire width direction, and partitioned into two thin ribs 34a, 34b by a thin groove 51. The central zone 1 has a lateral sipe density higher than that in the whole area of the grounding surface 11. The inside zone 2 has a lateral groove density higher than that in the whole area of the grounding surface 11.
