PURPOSE: A photographing apparatus, a photographing method, and a recording medium are provided to control the entire image into a proper white balance in emitting a flash without unnecessary photographing. CONSTITUTION: An exposure control value difference calculator(141) produces a difference between first and second exposure control values. A subject brightness calculator(142) produces the brightness of a subject for each image. A subject brightness difference calculator(143) produces a difference between subject brightness. A flash reflection amount calculator(144) produces a flash reflection amount from the subject brightness difference. A white balance gain calculator(146) produces white balance gain from the flash reflection amount.
