PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic information display device which reduces power consumption for energy saving and makes itself operable over a long period, while maintaining display performance which is sufficient for retrieving and browsing target information. SOLUTION: The electronic information display device has display modes that includes a first display mode which displays information, at the original display density of the information, on a display panel which is constituted of a plurality of pixels that are arranged two-dimensionally in row and columnar directions, and the power consumption of which depends on the thickness of the displaying density of the pixels for increasing its power consumption, as the display density becomes thicker; and a second display mode which changes the original display density of the information, to display the information on the display panel. The electronic information-display device conducts displaying in the second displaying mode, in the case of prescribed conditions for reducing the power consumption to save energy, and make itself operable over a long period, while maintaining the display performance which is sufficient for retrieving and browsing target information.
