<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enhancer for hyaluronic acid and a food having enhancer actions for hyaluronic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The inventors focused effects of an N-acetylglucosamine, a chitin oligosaccharide and a chitosan oligosaccharide on physiological actions, and as results of multiple studies, found that the N-acetylglucosamine, the chitin oligosaccharide and the chitosan oligosaccharide have actions to enhance production of hyaluronic acid, to conceive the present invention. In other words, the present invention provides the enhancer for hyaluronic acid production which is characterized by containing the N-acetylglucosamine.
