Cosmetic composition comprises polyurethane urea. The polyurethane urea is terminated with a copolymer unit of polyethylene oxide and polypropylene oxide and contains at least one hydroxyl group-containing polycarbonate polyol. An independent claim is also included for preparing the cosmetic composition, comprising: (i) producing at least one polycarbonate polyol, at least one aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic polyisocyanate or mixtures of such polyisocyanates, at least one monofunctional mixed polyoxyalkylene ether of polyethylene oxide and polypropylene oxide or a mixture of such polyether, and optionally at least one short-chain aliphatic polyols, optionally diluted with an inert solvent which is miscible with water and reactive against isocyanate group; (ii) heating the composition obtained from the step (i) at 50-120[deg] C; (iii) dosing at least one monofunctional mixed polyoxyalkylene ether of polyethylene oxide and polypropylene oxide or a mixture of such polyether, and at least one short-chain aliphatic polyol, optionally diluted with an inert solvent which is miscible with water and reactive against isocyanate group, which are not added, optionally at the beginning of the reaction; (iv) dissolving the prepolymer obtained by using aliphatic ketone; (v) adding at least one aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diamine and at least one amino alcohol as a chain extender or mixtures of such compounds as component (d) for chain elongation; (vi) adding water for dispersion; and (vii) removing the aliphatic ketone, preferably by distillation.
