<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display element, capable of solving simultaneously the problem of cutting an optical film without generating a defective appearance and the problem of preventing the film from being broken in continuous bonding. <P>SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display element is constituted to cut a long sheet-like object F1 with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer F14 and a carrier film F12 temporarily attached thereto laminated on the optical film F11 including a polarization element, at a prescribed interval, under the condition where the continuity of the carrier film F12 is kept, and to convey an obtained optical film piece and to separate the carrier film F12 by a tension, so as to be bonded continuously to a liquid crystal panel by the exposed pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the cutting is carried out in a cut-in depth of reaching substantially the carrier film F12, while moving a cutting means 162 along a width direction of the carrier film F12, and the cutting is executed to bring the cut-in depth into a depth less than a half of a thickness of the carrier film F12, at least both end parts in the width direction of the carrier film F12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
