METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING AND DECODING MULTI-VIEW IMAGE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for encoding and decoding multi-view image and a method thereof are provided to improve the encoding/decoding speed by using prediction method between time points. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether the reference picture referred to between each picture point of time included in the sequence of the multi-viewpoint image or not. Based on the above decision, the pictures are encoded using one of time point prediction or temporal prediction. The information whether the picture is reference picture or not is included.
