摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device of an engine, arranged at a section where a main flow passage and a bypass flow passage for circulating between a radiator and the engine communicate, capable of minimizing turbulent flows including vortex generated when cooling water flows through a thermostat and capable of reducing a water flow resistance of a cooling water passage. SOLUTION: This cooling device includes a valve storing part A formed by an inner circumferential side surface of the main flow passage 1 in which an open/close port part 13 of a main flow passage 1, a bypass opening part 41 of the bypass flow passage and a temperature sensing chamber 24 where an inflow port part 22 and an outflow port part 23 are formed and consists of a main valve 53 for opening and closing the open/close port part 13, a bypass valve 54 for opening and closing the bypass opening part 41 and a thermostat valve 5 provided with an element 51 for closing only one of the valves and opening only the other valve. The element 51 is stored in the temperature sensing chamber 24 and part of the valve storing part A near an inner circumferential side surface of a main flow passage 1 is arranged as a bulging base part 3. External forms of a vertical section side surface and a horizontal section flat surface of the bulging base part 3 are substantial stream line forms which gradually become narrower along a flow direction.
