<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector of which a thickness and size are reduced while maintaining connection performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The connector includes a contact 10, an auxiliary spring 30 incorporated with the contact, and a housing 3 for housing the contact with the auxiliary spring incorporated. The contact includes a contact part 11 projecting to a front surface 6 side of the housing, and an elastically deforming part 20 which elastically displaces when receiving relative pressing force of the contact part and an electrode part 51 of a mating electric device 50 in a housed state. A displacement orbit of the elastically deforming part, which elastically displaces, is set to be approximately horizontal to a bottom surface of the housing which is orthogonal to the front surface of the housing. The auxiliary spring includes a support part 31 for supporting the contact part, and an elastically deforming part 40 which is elastically displaced with the elastically deforming part of the contact when receiving the pressing force when the auxiliary spring is housed and receives the pressing force.
