<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hedge trimmer having high convenience to obtain an excellent finished surface without increasing labor of a worker, such as stretching threads when working. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hedge trimmer includes a power source, a handle, and a driving blade driven by the power source to reciprocate. A laser optical receiver which puts out a signal when receiving laser on a prescribed position is set on the upper surface of the blade. Since the optical receivers can be plurally set on the upper surface of the blade and each put out a light signal according to the state of the hedge trimmer, a worker can always work in an appropriate condition.
