The scan range (SA,SB) of each probe of a probe (14) array (11) is increased so that two or more recording areas (22B) formed on a recording surface (21) of a recording medium (20) can be scanned by using one probe (14A,14C). Moreover, displacement control information (54) is recorded in advance between the recording areas which are mutually adjacent on the recording surface (21) of the recording medium (20).
