<p>The method involves heating a fuel i.e. coolant (K), by an electrical heating element (5) before starting an internal combustion engine (2) of a motor vehicle. The electrical heating element is operated with electrical energy of a vehicle battery (6). The fuel is heated by the electrical heating element after starting and during operation of the internal combustion engine upto reaching a given temperature value (Tg) of the fuel. The heating element is activated during stopping of the internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle with an internal combustion engine and an electric drive.</p> |
