<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high methacrylic acid selectivity methacrylic acid production catalyst used in the production of methacrylic acid by the vapor-phase catalytic oxidation of methacrolein with molecular oxygen, to provide a production method thereof, and to provide a methacrylic acid production method using the methacrylic acid production catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for methacrylic acid production catalyst which is a production method for a methacrylic acid production catalyst used in the production of methacrylic acid by the vapor-phase catalytic oxidation of methacrolein with molecular oxygen and comprises mixing a heteropolyacid alkali metal salt in which the number of moles of ammonium radicals to an alkali metal is not more than 10% with another catalyst raw material containing molybdenum and phosphorus, drying the mixture, and firing the dried product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
