<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adopt an electrohydraulic power steering device to a larger vehicle by minimizing an increase of the size of the device and increases of power consumption and heating amount. <P>SOLUTION: This electric pump unit 15 for an electrohydraulic power steering device is provided with an oil pump 5 and an electric motor 4 for driving the oil pump 5. An input shaft 5i of the oil pump 5 is connected to a rotary shaft 4o of the electric motor 4 via a torque amplifying mechanism 16. The electrohydraulic power steering device includes an electronic control unit 3 for controlling driving of the electric motor 4 according to a steering operation.
