METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR TARGETING UNDERGLYCOSYLATED PROTEINS ACROSS BLOOD BRAIN BARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for delivery of protein to brain tissues on the CNS side of the blood brain barrier, particularly a method for delivery of protein to lysosomes of cells in CNS.

SOLUTION: The method is provided for targeting a composition to brain and a composition. The method and the composition involve a step of a binding IGF part with its therapeutic protein for targeting the therapeutic protein to the brain. A soluble fusion protein containing the IGF targeting fraction is delivered to nervous tissues in the brain from the bloodstream. The method and the composition include therapeutic applications for treating Lysosomal storage disorders. A nucleic acid and cells for expressing the IGF fusion protein are also provided.
