PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, which is adaptive to a plurality of image resolutions and can stop illegal copying, inexpensively. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the image processing apparatus including a color scanner unit, an inter-line correction buffer for matching read lines of respective color components generated by arrangement intervals of color sensors, a resolution converting means, a plurality of image processing means, and a detecting means of detecting whether image data correspond to a special document, wherein when an image read means of the color scanner unit has a standard resolution, respective processes of a first image processing means, a second image processing means and the detecting means are performed after image data read by the read means are subjected to a process by the inter-line correction buffer means, but when the image read means has a high resolution, on the other hand, the process by the inter-line correction buffer means is performed after the read image data are subjected to respective processes by the first image processing means and resolution converting means and before the process by the detecting means is performed.
