PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irradiation unit for a timepiece which enables security of excellent flexibility of design for LEDs 38 for illuminating a dial along with ensurance of LED arrangement spaces, and moreover enables uniformization of irradiation of the whole of the dial 20 by one module, and to provide a timepiece with an LED display function. SOLUTION: This irradiation unit for the timepiece is provided with an analog movement 16 for performing rotation driving of hands, a first circuit board 34 arranged approximately on the same plane as the analog movement 16 and capable of mounting LEDs 38 for illuminating the dial on, a holding part 18 for holding the analog movement 16 from above, and a second circuit board 36 capable of mounting the LEDs 38 for illuminating the dial on and attachable to and detachable from the holding part 18 above the first board 34.
