PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable, wherein fluctuations in transmission loss can be suppressed, even if branching is performed after an intermediate step, and increase in microbending loss and sheath crack inside the cable are not produced. SOLUTION: Since this optical fiber cable 1 has a thickness t which is equal to or larger than 0.32 mm between a coated optical fiber 21 and the bottom of a notch 24, the coated optical fiber 21 arranged inside the cable 1 is held surely, increase in the microbending loss is suppressed; and when the temperature of the sheath 23 reaches high temperature in a bent state, the cable 1 can be prevented from being torn and the coated optical fiber 21 from protruding to the outside. Since the flexural rigidity B of a tension member 22 is 0.0035-0.025 N×m<SP>2</SP>, a resilient force is large with respect to the force of the sheath 23, expanding in the longitudinal and vertical directions of the cable 1; and the bending rate of the coated optical fiber 21 inside the cable 1 relatively becomes small, and thereby loss fluctuation is suppressed.
