For part of friction pair value of surface wear intensity is set, as well as friction coefficient and design rated pressure, which is determined with the help of geometric parametres of friction pair, elastic properties of parts and power factors. Value of adhesion links cut stress is calculated on contact area as product of half of design rated pressure and friction coefficient. Required value of specific volume energy of surface layer material deformation is determined with account of calculated stress of adhesion links cut. Coating material is selected.
