PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output optimum image data complying with a DICOM standard by selecting and setting setting to be applied to inspection processing by an inspection apparatus from setting information stored beforehand on the basis of the identified result of the inspection apparatus.

SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus 2 includes: identification means (6, 9 and 13) for identifying a kind on the basis of the scope ID information of an endoscope 3; a storage part 11 for storing information (SOP31) relating to processing to be executed corresponding to the kind of the endoscope 3; and a control part 13 for reading and setting SOP (32-36) corresponding to the kind from the SOP31 stored in the storage part 11 on the basis of the identified result by the identification means and performing changeover so as to read and set prescribed information (SOP33) from the SOP31 stored in the storage part 11 when there is no information corresponding to the kind.
