The orthodontic fixture is for retaining corrective wires round the teeth. It comprises a shackle with two double hooks and an arcuate foot extending along its length. There is a longitudinal groove (2) between them in which the wires lie. The fixture is mounted on a tooth by a plate (5) with a metal trellis over it. The plate is fixed under the hooks of the shackle by a film of solder which has an aperture (9) through which a boss (7) on the plate (5) projects.
