The liquid pharmaceutical composition in the form of the spray for the sublingual use contains the active ingredient, the excipient and at least one solvent. 3-Hydroxy-6-methyl-2-ethyl pyridine succinate (Mexidol) is used as the active ingredient. The stability of the inventive composition is provided by the appropriate set of the excipients as well as their ratios. The composition allows one to maintain the therapeutic concentration of Mexidol in human blood plasma upon the sublingual administration. The drugs containing Mexidol in the forms of the injectional solutions, powders in the capsules, and the tablets are widely used for preventing and treating the ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, the acute impairments of blood circulation, and the cerebral strokes. |
