<p>METHOD OF WINCHING CUT TIMBER IN A FOREST AND A MACHINE DESIGNED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS A method of retrieving cut logs in a forest, by a method of hauling, using a machine, being of an excavator body, with an modified backhoe bottom arm portion that adapts to function as a boom, that has a winch pulley at one end and a hydraulically powered reel at the other, with this hydraulically powered reel strategically fitted above the excavator to optimize turning effect, and with an appendage backhoe fore-arm fitted under the backhoe bottom arm portion to support the boom, providing leverage and stability to the excavator in the process of winching, therefore enabling greater efficiency and overall productivity of the machine and logging operation as a whole. The concept behind this innovation is that of retrieving cut down tree trunks by using a cable and having a method of winching the trunk, to bring the tree trunk from the place where it felled to a landing bay by the road where it can be loaded onto lorries or similar vehicles and be transported on. A cable is a wire rope that is used to link the logfisher with the log to be hauled and is the shortest distance between two points, and represents the most efficient and effective means used to haul the log onto the landing bay.</p> |
