A lamp body for a surface light source, and a method and an apparatus for manufacturing the light source are provided to decrease a manufacturing cost by firmly fusing two substrates with each other without applying heat on an overall surface of the substrate. An apparatus for manufacturing the light source includes first and second molds(310,320). The first mold includes an external body(312) and an inner heat/pressure application unit(314). The inner heat/pressure application unit includes plural heaters, which are arranged to be apart from each other by a predetermined distance therein. A thread and a groove are repeatedly formed on a surface of the heat/pressure application unit. The heater is arranged on the thread portion, such that heat is locally applied on a substrate, on which the discharge channel is formed. The second mold also includes an external body(322) and an inner heater(324). Heaters(326) in the inner heater are uniformly arranged to be denser than in the first mold. A light source body is mounted on an upper surface of the second mold.
