PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a pump with a transmission such as a reduction gear while reducing length in the direction of the axis of a main shaft for preventing enlargement of a civil engineering structure such as a building. SOLUTION: This pump with the transmission gear is provide with an impeller 8 attached to the vertical spindle 7, an impeller chamber 9 rotatably storing the impeller 8, a suction cover 10 arranged on the upstream side of the impeller chamber 9, and an elbow pipe 12 arranged on the downstream side of the impeller chamber 9. At least a part of the transmission B for shifting power of a motor and transmitting it to the spindle 7, is enclosed in a fluid transfer path 12W of the elbow pipe 12, and also the input shaft 13 of the transmission B is taken out in parallel with the spindle 7.
