PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom cover tape paper which prevents a laminate resin from being extruded out during heat sealing. SOLUTION: The bottom cover tape paper has a resin layer formed on one side and is heat-sealed to carrier tape so that this resin layer is in contact with the carrier tape. The bottom cover tape paper is made by a long net paper packing machine. In the bottom cover tape paper, its basis weight (JIS P 8124:1998) is 18 g/m<SP>2</SP>or less, air permeability (JIS P 8117:1998) is one or more seconds, and lateral tear strength (JIS P 8116:2000) is 90 mN or greater.
