<p>A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to inform an erroneous state of transmission signals from signal boards by detecting an abnormality of the transmission signal using an abnormality detector. A plasma display device includes a display panel(10), an image board(60), a logic board(70), a driver(50), an abnormality detector(32), and an OSD(On Screen Display) processor(46). The display panel includes discharge cells. The image board includes an image processor which receives an external image signal and converts the image signal to an internal image signal. A logic controller for generating driving control signals for electrodes according to the internal image signal is mounted on the logic board. The driver drives the display panel according to the driving control signals. The abnormality detector detects an operation error in at least one of the image board and the logic board. The OSD processor is embedded on the logic board or integrated with the logic controller, and displays a detection result from the abnormality detector on the display panel.</p> |
