PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray detecting apparatus performing the simultaneous adjustment of height and direction in an X-ray detector by one hand, and to provide an X-ray radiography apparatus having the X-ray detecting apparatus. SOLUTION: The X-ray detecting apparatus (400) having the X-ray detector (440) supported by a column (410) includes: a horizontal arm (430) one end of which is engaged with the column so as to be variable in a vertical position and to be lockable and the other end of which supports the X-ray detector so that its direction can be varied; a handle (350) provided to the arm; a first switch provided to the handle so as to release the lock of the arm; and a second switch provided to the handle so as to change the direction of the X-ray detector.
