A liquid crystal display device has a backlight structural body (BL) which is mounted on a back surface of a liquid crystal display panel and includes a plurality of external electrode fluorescent lamps (EFL) arranged on a surface of a back surface plate (RPL), a pair of power supply terminals (TM) which electrically connects the external electrode fluorescent lamps in parallel, an inverter printed circuit board (INV) which controls the external electrode fluorescent lamps, and power supply cables (CBL1,CBL2) which connect the power supply terminals and the inverter printed circuit board. The inverter printed circuit board is arranged on a lower side portion of a back surface of the back surface plate on a side opposite to a surface of the back surface plate on which the liquid crystal display panel is mounted.
