A system and a method for detecting abnormality of a dental water purifier in the online network are provided to enable a unit and central computer to detect leakage and suspension of water supply by installing a pressure or flow sensor on pipeline of the dental water purifier, or installing a leakage sensor on the bottom of inside the dental water purifier. A dental water purifier(120) is equipped with an abnormality detector for detecting failure of the dental water purifier. The unit computer(400) receives an abnormality detection signal from the abnormality detector of the dental water purifier. The central computer is connected with the unit computer through the online network, and receives the abnormality detecting signal from the dental water purifier. The abnormality detection device is more than one of the flow, pressure, and leakage water sensor. The pressure sensor(310) or the flow sensor(210-230) is installed on the pipeline between the dental water purifier and each unit chair(150). The leakage sensor(320) is installed on the bottom inside the dental water purifier.
