PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet ejection apparatus for improving a cleaning performance of ink on a transfer belt 28 by a cleaning unit. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet ejection apparatus is provided in which an ejection head 32 for ejecting water is disposed on an upstream side in a rotation direction of a transfer belt 28 from a recording head 32 and on a downstream side in the rotation direction of the transfer belt 28 from a cleaning web unit 52, and a cleaning promoting layer is previously formed with water ejected from the ejection head 32 at a position on which an ink droplet on the transfer belt 28 landed at an ejection mode where the recording head 32 ejects an ink droplet on the transfer belt 28, thereby interposing the cleaning promoting layer between the ink droplet and the transfer belt 28.
