The recycling process electrolytically pickles metal surfaces, and the pickled-off material is regenerated in an electrolysis cell integrated into the production process. The alkaline solution in the cell dissolves galvanizing metal (zinc) from the substrate. At the same time, the previously dissolved-off material is electrolytically separated from the opposite cathode.
