PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having an extension pipe and capable of avoiding the enlargement of the external shape of an attachment part of a wiring cover to a suction pipe. SOLUTION: One end of a second cover case 37 has an attachment object end 74C; one of the pipe end 30b of the suction pipe 30 and the attachment object end 74C is formed with a locking claw 71; an engagement object part engaging groove 78 which engages the attachment object end 74C with the locking claw 70 in such a manner as preventing its pull-out in the radial direction of the suction pipe 30 by sliding the attachment object end 74C in the end edge direction of the pipe end 30b is formed in the other of the pipe end part 30b and the attachment end 74C; and a cover locking means flange 53, a movement regulating projection part 71 and the locking step part 74e, which lock the attachment end 74C to the pipe end part 30b to prevent the attachment object end 74C from moving in the longitudinal direction of the suction pipe 30 by the sliding operation, are provided between the attachment object end and the pipe end part 30b and abut on the cover locking means 71 and 74e inside an annular retaining member ornament ring K to retain the immovable state of the attachment end 74C.
