An ultrasound connection unit for connection sheet material, comprises an ultrasound generating unit (9) which creates longitudinal oscillations in the ultrasound frequency region, at least one ultrasound sonotrode for converting and transmitting the longitudinal oscillations to the materials to be connected, and a support member. The ultrasound sonotrode has a hollow roller which is concentric to a central axis, and which can create radial bending oscillations. At least one ultrasound generating unit is connected to the hollow roller. At least one exciting element is a cross coupled unit inside the roller.
