A text stream reproduction method in a home network is provided to allow a particular text stream to be reproduced on one screen as soon as media contents are reproduced, thus desired text information can be reproduced while the media contents are reproduced even without interrupting the reproduction of the media contents. An information value for a text stream transmittable from a media server is generated(S10,S11). While media contents are reproduced through a media renderer from the media server, a control point demands reproduction of the text stream(S12-S15). The media server extracts the text stream based on the information value of the text stream, so that the text stream is reproduced as soon as the media contents are reproduced from the media renderer(S16).
